Refinishing of 400 fixtures for Gap Stores

The Gap companies wanted to have all of the fixtures in two stores refinished. This included 400 fixtures and approximately 900 shelves. All of these items had to be picked up at night and returned no more than two weeks later. The two stores were only able to give a truck load at a time which made completing the phases of the project very complicated.

Project Challenges

The most challenging part of these orders came from the continual changing of the scope. The stores could not go without fixtures for any length of time nor were replacement fixtures available. Crucial items needed to be returned to the stores within days. The fixtures themselves were battered after years of abuse as well. Every piece needed major restoration and be completely refinished.

All told these two stores took 4 months of planning and preparation and 4 months of action. A total of 23 trips to the South Coast Plaza. SoCal was acclaimed by The Gap's design team for our strong communication and logistical abilities. The project was successfully opened on time on December 4th.
